Stockholm Fintech Hub member Sofie Blakstad has won the top prize of the Ericsson Garage Startup Challenge 2017.
As part of this year’s Sthlm Tech Fest, Ericsson offered entrepreneurs an opportunity to be considered for a venture capital investment and technology support from Ericsson Garage – an in-house incubator that explores opportunities to develop tangible prototypes in new areas together with selected partners.
Applications were accepted from July 24 until August 23 and finalists faced a ‘Dragon’s Den’ of Börje Ekholm, President and CEO of Ericsson; Tanya Marvin Horowitz, co-founder and managing partner, CAP A Partners / Butterfly Ventures; and Ville Heikkenin, Partner, Butterfly Ventures.
After tense evening and some great presentations, the Grand Prize Winner was announced as Hiveonline. Founder and CEO, Sofie Blakstad, who is also a strategic advisor to Stockholm Fintech Hub, and her team will be offered a fast track to final investment meeting and decision up to €50,000 with Cap A or Butterfly; incubation for 8 months at Ericsson Garage in Kista, Sweden; unlimited access to the Urban ICT Arena for one year.
